Lately we’ve been having a real cold snap where I live. See, this wouldn’t be anything unusual, seeing as I call the northern part of the country my home. Here, it’s Winter for eight months of the year! And yet, since it’s the middle of June, a cold snap is rather unexpected. The temperatures outside are in the fifties or lower some days, and my boys are all whining since they want to go to the pool. Hey, if the weather doesn’t change soon and grant us some sun and warmer temperatures, I don’t see how every one of us will get our money’s worth on the pool pass for this Summer! Last night, the bulk of us slept with the windows open because the breeze was so nice. Not having to run our air conditioner at all this Summer is a nice break, which has been a positive part of the cooler weather. Still, imagine my surprise today when the open windows led to our furnace kicking on! I had the temperature control set all the way down to the lowest temperature setting for the Summer. You know, you don’t usually use the furnace while the Summer is going on, but when I woke up I noticed the temperature had dropped down below the settings on the temperature control. Just like that, there was hot air pouring in through the heating ducts on my ceilings. I ran to change the settings on the temperature control, because I don’t care how cold it gets – Running my furnace in June is ridiculous! I’m telling all of my kids to go dig their Winter sweaters out, as we’ll just wear those to the pool. Forget this stupid frigid weather!
