During the winter, I don’t usually go on several runs outside because I am not a fan of the cold air. Not to mention, I don’t want to risk slipping on unseen ice or snow. This weekend, there was an unseasonably warm morning, while the Winter time usually consists of days thirty degrees or below, it was hovering around fifty degrees outside. This isn’t a Summer morning by any means, however it was warm enough for myself and others to give a run a try. However a cold rain started about halfway through my run. Then unfortunately, I was still about twenty minutes away from my home. Though it started off as a sprinkle, however then it turned into a full on downpour. Full speed ahead, I ran through the rain. When I finally got home, I was frozen to the bone. I changed out of my wet clothes as suddenly as possible and parked myself in front of the heater. My body was cold and damp, even though the run had myself and others dripping with sweat and out of breath. I turned up the heating system to full blast and sat in front of it for about thirty minutes. After about an hour, I finally adjusted the thermostat to a lower setting. I sat enjoying my warm, cozy home for the rest of the night. I am so ecstatic that I recently upgraded my furnace. It just made the house that much more warm and comfortable, and trust me, that’s exactly what I needed! The house used to operate on a furnace that was over thirty years old! I was so used to it that I didn’t even realize it wasn’t legitimately working as well as it could be. When I finally upgraded out of a precautionary measure, I realized what I’d been missing. Although, I don’t assume it fully soaked in how much I enjoyed the modern furnace until after that run.
